Vibrato, tremolo and pitch shift
Vibrato changes pitch periodically. Tremolo changes level periodically. A fixed pitch change moves the center pitch and is not the same effect as vibrato.
Prepare the sound first
- Choose a sustained note or phrase where pitch movement will be audible.
- Trim the clip and leave sensible headroom.
- If you need an added vibrato effect, export WAV for a processor with dedicated vibrato controls, then return to the editor for the final trim and export.
Tools available in this release
MP3 Editor for Free has speed and pitch-related processing, but no dedicated vibrato effect. Its volume envelope changes gain over time; it should not be described as pitch modulation.
Listen to the musical context
Excessive depth can make a note sound unstable, especially when the performance already contains natural vibrato. Compare against the original phrase and keep the version that fits the recording.
