Choose what to capture
Open Tools → Record and choose microphone, system audio or both. Check the selected devices and make a short test. Windows privacy permissions and the selected playback device can affect what is available.
Record a clean take
- Listen to your short test before starting the main recording. Reduce the input level if loud parts distort.
- Start recording, leave a brief pause and capture the material you need.
- Stop and review the resulting waveform. Remove false starts and long gaps before exporting.
When you need two sources
Recording microphone and system audio together is useful for a narrated demonstration. Use headphones to reduce speaker sound leaking back into the microphone, and compare the source levels during the test.
Finish the recording
Trim the edges, adjust an uneven phrase and add a fade where appropriate. Export MP3 for a compact listening copy or WAV for further editing.
